Itinerary
Meet your driver at the hotel or airport of Marrakech. Then drive toward the high Atlas mountains in the summit of 2260 m (Tizi n Tichka). We stop for good pictures through the valleys and the Berber villages. We arrived at the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of the legacies classified by UNESCO for the visit to Marrakech. The lunch will be at the Hollywood of North Africa called Ouarzazate. We continue until we reach the Draa valley in a length of 200 km. between Ouarzazate to dura valley we reach the Zagora Sahara desert. Then you put in place in camel for a walk of 1 hour toward the dunes to watch the sunset in the Ait Benhaddo. You will spend the night in a tent nomadic Berber with dinner.
Wake up early to Zagora Sahara desert enjoy the sunrise over the dunes and the food at breakfast and walk on the camel’s back to Zagora Sahara desert to reach your vehicle and then drive through the Draa valley and Agdez to discover the hidden treasures of the southern region and continue toward Ouarzazate where you can enjoy lunch and explore the city with its film studios Ouarzazate. In the afternoon return trip to Marrakech via the High Atlas. We arrived in Marrakech at approximately 06:00 hours to Marrakech.

Zagora is about 360 km from Marrakech, roughly 7 hours of driving over the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass. The drive is broken up with stops at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate and the palm groves of the Draa Valley, so you see a lot on the way.
The most comfortable months for a Sahara tour are mid-September to November and March to May, with warm days and cool nights. From June to August daytime temperatures in the desert often pass 40°C, so the camel ride is scheduled for late afternoon. From December to February days are sunny and mild, but desert nights can drop close to 0°C, so bring warm layers.
Pack light layers for the day and a warm jacket or fleece for the evening, a scarf or headscarf against sun and sand, sunglasses, sunscreen and comfortable closed shoes. Keep a small backpack with your essentials for the night in the desert camp, plus a power bank and some cash for personal expenses and tips.
Zagora is the closest Sahara-style desert to Marrakech, which makes it ideal when you only have 2 days. Merzouga has the higher, golden Erg Chebbi dunes but is about 560 km away, so we recommend our 3 Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga if you have an extra day.
